David Fulghum joined MacKay & Company in 1993 as Director of Strategic Planning after 24 years with Navistar International. Today he holds the title of Vice President.
He received a BS in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa in 1969 and joined International Harvester (Navistar) in an engineering position. Fulghum progressed to Chief Engineer, Outdoor Power Products while attending the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business where he received an MBA in finance in 1974.
Upon completion of the Program for Management Development (PMD) at Harvard University's Graduate School of Business, Fulghum returned to IH's corporate staff as Director of Worldwide Production Programming and Asset Management with responsibility for production scheduling and inventory management of all product lines.
Fulghum then assumed responsibility for Navistar’s truck operation’s market research department before moving to it's Parts Operation where he was responsible for parts pricing, PCD inventory levels, customer service performance, product managers and the Dealer Profitability Planning Process – a program to help dealers grow their service parts business by 50% in three years.
Fulghum is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds patents in seven countries. He has published technical papers in both Engineering and Production Scheduling and is listed in Who's Who in the Midwest and International Who's Who in Engineering.
