Stuart S. MacKay is president of MacKay & Company, a specialized market research and consulting firm established by him in 1968. MacKay & Company concentrates the majority of its research and consulting activity in the truck, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, engine and parts and service distribution businesses.
Prior to establishing MacKay & Company, MacKay served on the staff of the Cummins Engine Company in a variety of sales and marketing positions at both the corporate and divisional levels from 1963 to 1968. His final position at Cummins was as director of marketing for Fleetguard, Inc.
Prior to joining Cummins, MacKay served on the operations staff of Red Star Express Lines from 1956 to 1961. Prior to its acquisition by TNT, Red Star was one of the top 50 for-hire common carriers operating in North America.
MacKay holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Cornell University (1957). He also received a masters degree in Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College (1963).
In almost 40 years of operation, MacKay & Company has completed a broad variety of assignments dealing with the transportation industry, the trucking industry, truck distribution, parts and service distribution, distribution planning and development and a variety of related assignments. MacKay & Company maintains an extensive database on the truck, parts, engine and equipment industries. MacKay is the author of several articles on the truck industry, trucking, distribution and related topics. He has served as an expert witness for more than twenty years for General Motors, Volvo Truck Corporation, Hyundai, Sterling Truck Corporation and others.
