Classes 2c-5 Aftermarket

Capitalizing on the aftermarket opportunity generated by 9.6 million trucks in weight classes 2c-5

This 226 page report, completed in 2006, estimates parts demand in value and units for 87 difference replacement parts and components for each of the four classes of vehicles studied. Demand is further segmented across eight end user vocations.

Survey data was used to determine where Class 2c-5 vehicles are serviced. For those vehicles that are serviced by operators, survey data was collected which identifies where the vehicle operators purchase the repair parts they install on their vehicles. This information is reported for each of the 87 replacement parts and components and for each of the four vehicle classes.

Data specific to Class 2c-5 operators' use of extended warranties, contract maintenance agreements and parts purchases are included as well.

In 2005, demand for replacement parts and components for Class 2c-5 vehicles was $20.2 billion at 2004 retail prices. Looking out five years, this demand is expected to increase by nearly 24%.
